EPITAPH - June the 2nd 2009
It is with regret that IMAX film-makers and millions of film goers alike sadly mourn the death of IMAX GT the giant screen, 'Grand Theater' system where 3D screens of up to 23 X 30 metres in size provide moviegoers with a (still virtually unexploited) film experience, way ahead of its time.
Those that have been following the recent, 'LIEMAX' controversy (http://liemax.com/) will have no trouble reading between the lines of a recent press article entitled, 'With Hollywood sold, IMAX aims to woo Wall Street' reprinted on the IMAX website (http://www.imax.com/) dated June the 2nd...
"The company still has a museum arm — “Hubble 3D” is the next release — but most of its attention these days is on the multiplex."
A museum arm?
